One of the questions we are most often asked is how much does In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) actually cost? Well it can actually be a complicated answer. Firstly, it’s important to understand that every situation is unique. There are a wide range of factors that go into each family’s case.
Some of these factors may include:
- Female medical complications
- Male medical complications
- Genetics
- Access to financial support
- Insurance coverages (very few insurance companies support IVF)
- Past successes and failures
- Doctor’s recommended procedures
- Necessary medications
In our particular case, we could end up in anywhere within the range of roughly $32,000 to $65,000 in total. This cost includes all of the required procedures and medications to attempt to have one successful pregnancy. This amount does not include labor and delivery costs, or any costs associated with taking care of a new baby.
While this is a frightening and overwhelming number, we are choosing to push forward with hope and positivity. We understand that this financial burden will take many years to overcome and that considerable sacrifices will need to be made in order to accomplish this.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we continue to move forward. We love you and we thank you.
Many people have asked how they can offer financial support to help us in our journey. While it is uncomfortable and often embarrassing to accept financial help from others, we are willing and very grateful to accept any support that is offered.
